Steve Dondley
Founder and Owner of UnionConnect and Prometheus Labor Communications, Inc.
Steve Dondley, owner and founder of UnionConnect is a US Navy submarine veteran and the son of a union machinist who started his career in the labor movement as a labor organizer for UFCW in Springfield, MA in 1996. With an early interest in computers and programming since childhood and a fascination with mass communication developed during his post secondary education at UMass, in the late 90s he combined his passions and to develop websites for labor unions. He launched his company, Prometheus Labor Communications, in 2005. Mr. Dondley served as the Recording Secretary of the Pioneer Vally AFL-CIO until it’s dissolution in 2019. He also brings a pro-union voice to his community as a former city councilor in the city of Westfield, MA.
He is the principle architect and lead developer of the UnionConnect mobile app platform.

Sean Dondley is driven by a simple mission: to help unions build power in the digital age. As Chief Operating Officer of UnionConnect, he leads the company’s infrastructural development and day-to-day operations. Growing up in a union household with a father active in the labor movement, Sean saw firsthand the challenges unions face in keeping members connected and informed. After becoming the first in his family to earn a Computer Science degree from UMass Amherst, he set out to put those skills to work for the labor movement. Today, Sean works directly with unions across the country to ensure the platform delivers real value to their members—helping labor stay strong in an increasingly digital world.
