Steve Dondley, owner and founder of UnionConnect is a US Navy submarine veteran and the son of a union machinist who started his career in the labor movement as a labor organizer for UFCW in Springfield, MA in 1996. With an early interest in computers and programming since childhood and a fascination with mass communication developed during his post secondary education at UMass, he combined his passions and to develop websites in the late 90s for labor unions. He launched his company, Prometheus Labor Communications, in 2005. Mr. Dondley served as the Recording Secretary of the Pioneer Vally AFL-CIO until it’s dissolution in 2019. He also brings a pro-union voice to his community as a former city councilor in the city of Westfield, MA.
He is the principle architect and lead developer of the UnionConnect mobile app platform.
