Bargaining Unit 1

Groups & Committees

Groups let you organize members beyond their bargaining unit and location. A group can be a standing committee (e.g., "Grievance Committee", "Political Action Committee"), your executive board, stewards, a special project team, or any other subset of your membership.

Groups can be admin-assigned (only admins add members) or opt-in (members join themselves). Groups can receive targeted push notifications, news, events, and documents.

Group 1

Member News is a public, opt-in group for sharing personal news and milestones about members - birthdays, retirements, births, condolences, awards, and other good-and-welfare items. Members who opt in receive these updates via push notification. Think of it as the "Good and Welfare" section of your meeting agenda, but in the app.

Worker Categories

These questions help us understand who your members are, so we can set up the right access levels.

Public sector includes government, public schools, state universities, etc.
So-called “right-to-work” states include TX, FL, AZ, GA, and 23 others. If you're not sure, we can figure it out on the call.

Registration Form Fields

What information should members provide when they register? Check the fields you want, then mark each as required or optional.

The fields you collect at registration should include at least one field that can be matched against your member list (e.g., email, employee ID).

Targeting & Segmentation

UnionConnect lets you send push notifications and publish news, events, and information to specific groups of members - not just everyone at once. Below are the ways you can currently target content. Check the ones you'd use, and let us know if you need to reach members in ways not listed.

Custom Menu Items

Your app comes with standard menu items like News, Events, Documents, and Directory. You can also add custom menu items that link to external websites, internal pages, or specific content.

For example, you could add a menu item called "File a Grievance" that links to an online form, or "Our Contract" that opens your CBA document directly.
